I’m back!

After balking at SiteGround renewel price ($300+ per year) for hosting my blogs, I decided to pause my blogs back in August last year after 3 years of sporadically updating my blog.

Main reason being – that I couldn’t justify spending $300+ per year on blogs that I only update maybe twice a year just for my own amusement. So when we were reviewing our finances to keep up with the interest rate rises on our mortgage (Thanks RBA!). All the ‘nice to haves’ like the blogs, Costco subscriptions etc. were cut back.

There was the cheap/free option of moving back to blogger but it got too fiddly so I gave up fairly quickly.

But having somewhere to share my random thoughts makes me happy, the off chance of what I write helping somebody makes me happy. Like there was a lady who asked me about the Koala Paddington Bed Frame (Here if you’re interested). Don’t think my response actually helped her in any way, but I’ve pretended it did so I can feel good about myself.

Anyways, when I saw a local hosting option doing an Aussie Day Sale earlier this year, it sparked a little creative fire back into me. I thought, ‘hey! what if I started my blogs up again?’

After workshopping it intensely(?) on a piece paper , I set a goal of having 10 blog post ready before I commit to spending the hosting fee.
Then I realised that the 70% off hosting is only available for another 3 days, So I quickly downgraded my goal of having 10 blog post IDEAS ready instead (LOL)

Restoring both my old WordPress sites from XML was surprisingly easy since I didn’t have that many posts. However, I did lose all the pics and gifs in the contents so I’ll have to go back and fix it slowly (or not because I’m lazy haha).

So here it is, my blog post number 1 for 2024! (which was supposed to be published back in February, but hey! better late than never)
